From NAMM 2010 The USAF Band of The Golden West, Mobility Band

By the third day of NAMM 2010 everyone is either hung over, exhausted, or so chipper way too early in the morning that you just want to smack them.  Suffice to say, I was not the chipper guy and I was seriously looking for a coffee fix when I walked through the door for the first time on Day Three.

I went through the front door by the big stage and there was a huge crowd gathered; on the stage was the USAF Mobility Band. They sounded so good that not three feet from the door I dropped my backpack, set up the steady-tracker-cam and headed for the stage.

Their set was tight and right and everyone loved it. I shot most of it, then headed backstage to try and grab an interview. I was immediately  thrown out by the stage manager, who was very nice about it but adamant and short and there were two big security guys looking my way. I explained who I was, that I was just waiting to talk with the guitar player and didn’t want to get in the way. They let me hang out just behind the curtains by the sound guy.
