Everytime that I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face gettin’ clearer
The past is gone
It went by like dust to dawn
Isn’t that the way
Everybody’s got their dues in life to pay
“With the help of my family and team of medical professionals, I am taking responsibility for the management of my pain and am eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my band mates,” said 61-year-old Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler in December, as he checked himself into rehab for the second time in as many years for painkiller addiction.
But Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry has been going public for months implying the band is looking to replace Tyler by summer and take the band on the road again. “Aerosmith is positively looking for a new singer to work with. You just can’t take 40 years of experience and throw it in the bin!” tweeted Perry.
In January, Tyler’s attorney Skip Miller wrote a letter to Aerosmith manager Howard Kaufman, requesting that Aerosmith’s management “immediately cease and desist,” referring to Perry’s comments. Then Miller scheduled a Feb. 9 meeting of Aerosmith’s “shareholders” on behalf of Steven Tyler, to figure out what’s next for the band. Issues were to include recording a new album and touring Europe and South America in 2010.
