Rock4Life Highlands Music Festival Cancelled

Rock4Life, scheduled for May 1 at Whiteness, near Ardersier, was expected to attract a crowd of about 20,000 and was to benefit the Highland Hospice.

Veteran rockers Status Quo were among the acts due to appear at the event.

The second day of the two-day event, for which Sugababes and McFly were originally scheduled, had already been cancelled because of poor ticket sales.

A spokesman for Highland Council said they had been informed the decision to call off the entire event was made due to the “knock-on effect” from the loss of the second day, which created a cash-flow problem. “Everything was in place for the event to go ahead and the organizers had the proper permissions,” he said. “This has come as a disappointment.”
