The Doheny Blues Festival is known for offering top-quality entertainment. This year should be no exception when the festival returns May 22 & 23 for its 13th year to Doheny State Beach in scenic Dana Point Harbor, California, presenting 26 acts on three stages.

Two main stages are placed at opposite ends of a large grass field, both within 100 yards of the Pacific Ocean. A third stage, the Backporch, has been added where fans can enjoy acoustic performances in an intimate lawn area.

Doheny is definitely a family-friendly event. They even have a brand-new area this year, the Kids EcoZone, where kids can participate in eco-crafts, music jam/lessons and face painting. Plus, there will be blues performances on  their own “Beach Shack” stage.

There will be an International Food Court (15 vendors serving everything from BBQ to Greek to vegetarian), a large Vendor Faire and Microbrew Tasting at the Backporch.

The Blues, Rock & Soul music should be fantastic! Tickets are available now.

Saturday’s offerings will include The Black Crowes, Taj Mahal & The Phantom Blues Band, Jackie Green and The Fabulous Thunderbirds.

You’ll need to return Sunday for Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Robert Cray Band, Booker T. Jones and Bettye LaVette.

Always environmentally aware, the Doheny is greener than ever this year, with notions like their Bike Valet program, significant use of compostable materials and major recycling efforts.

Gates open at 11 am each day and the show will go on, rain or shine. The forecast is bright and sunny, though, so don’t forget the sunblock!
