Lloyd is one of the premiere artists on the Roxboro Label. Talking in the green room for a moment we found a soft-spoken gentleman relaxing a bit before the show. He talked with us briefly about his new CD and his Roxboro cohorts and then they took the stage.
Played to a packed house his easy style, reminiscent of Wes Montgomery yet distinctly Lloyd Gregory, flowed effortlessly through two beautiful guitar songs. His flow and exuberance caught on and the all-star band, including fellow Roxboro artist Sunnie Paxson, played the songs as if they had been playing together for years.

A star on the San Francisco music circuit, Lloyd has played with the best of the best. A who’s who of jazz has enlisted his skills to enhance their own albums.
Of his new album he says, “As we grow in time, age, experience, knowledge and wisdom, there comes a time when it’s time to put it all to music and share it with the world. For this album, it was time to make music for my friends.”

Lloyd’s study under Grand Master Byong Yu gained him a Seventh Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. He says, “At the same time I studied certain aspects of music including harmonic structure, rhythms, arranging, musical mathematics and especially the vibrations of sound, and how all of this is linked to the body and to the spirit. “
The study seems to have created a healer, for his music soothes your soul, calms your spirit and makes you tap your foot.
I’ve seen Lloyd many times and his live shows are spectacular. He’s come up with another great commercial success in the making with his new self-titled CD. He has many attributes but to say “virtuoso"….(an inside joke). Lloyd is a extremely talented musician complimented by being simply a great person.
