Monday Morning Blues Dan Grigor Plays Road Trip on the 12-String

I really do have the Monday Morning Blues this morning. I usually take Monday off. Today, I have way too much to do. I have great stuff to get ready for you this week: more from Mobility including a great interview with their guitar player Jason Cale plus more SpringFest music from Faded Natives and Mobility.

We’ll have more music and a review of two Hanson guitars from NAMM 2010. Catfish takes a look at the Cigno and I put a Chicagoan through its paces live from the Hanson booth on the convention floor. The Martin series will finish up with an amazing interview with one of my real guitar heroes, Jorma Kaukonen.

Road Trip

I need to take a road trip
To take one soon
I need to climb a big hill
Halfway to the moon
Spend the evening in your arms
and watch the sun go down
Stay up and watch the stars fall down
The sun come up
Lets take a road trip

We’ll pack some stuff
Into the minivan
Some marshmallows and hot dogs
and stuff in cans
We’ll bring along a guitar
Sing some songs
Sit around and poke a fire all night long
When the morning dew’s dripping from the leaves
We’ll sleep till noon under the trees
Lets take a road trip
Be gone a while

We’ll snuggle up close
and sleep real late
Eat scrambled eggs off of paper plates
Some dirty water coffee from the stream

It sounds like a dream
