While at NAMM 2010 I got lucky and setup a video tour of the whole Martin line of guitars. Chris Thomas, the extremely knowledgeable Booth Host, shows us just about every guitar in the house and is then kind enough to sit down and talk about C. F. Martin: the man, the guitars, the company. It is a great interview.

In this five-part series we will see all the guitars, have a sit-down interview with Chris and we’ll top it off with an exclusive interview with Jorma Kaukonen and get to hear him play his new guitar.

Click through for Part One of the five-part BareFootMusicNews exclusive video tour.

In Part One we see some very special Martin guitars and ukuleles, including some amazing graphics and stunning pearl inlay design by the great Tracy Cox. We round the corner and see the new Performing Artist Series including the new body style of the Grand Performance Cutaway featuring the Fishman F1 Aura System. Steve Miller’s signature model is beautiful, lacquered in vintage red, and we’ll see the 15 series, now available in mahogany.

We get a peek at the acoustic basses, equipped with Fishman pickups. Part One ends with a look at the Jorma Kaukonen Signature Series guitar and you get to hear him play it a little. How cool is that?  I actually got to sit down and talk with him; we’ll have that interview coming up in Part Five. I talk about the experience on my blog. You can read it there at dangrigor.com

We’re not done yet. This is Part one of a five-part series on Martin Guitars at barefootmusicnews; subscribe and you won’t miss a thing.

StayTuned! There’s more.
