Excellent information, presented with great style. Check out the link to “12-string songs”, as far as I am concerned, Dan owns the 12-string guitar. From his bombastic open chords to his gentle, filigree, finger tapping, Dan’s 12-string adventures are a clinic on how to play this instrument. But, a word of caution; if you are clicking his link to listen, learn and cop some licks, keep your wits about you and your purpose clear because your pursuit of nuggets of musical education could just become fogged and forgotten as you surrender to uncontrolled toe tapping and sly grins when., inevitably, you are captured by the music of Dan’s World.
Great article Dan. I use alternate tunings alot esp on my 12 string. One can hear some examples one my youtube channel. I also use open G for example on my 6 string to play slide. For me music is a part of my journey and I constantly experiment. I have learned a lot watching Antoine Dufour ,Michael Hedges etc.
