Gibson Guitar Corp. is a defendant in at least five lawsuits filed in California and Washington D.C.,  dating back to last year that targets industry groups.

Gibson and the other groups are accused of price fixing, the plaintiffs’ attorneys say that violates the Sherman Antitrust Act.

Focused largely on national instrument retailer Guitar Center,  the action targets the National Association of Music Merchants,  Fender and Yamaha as well. Gibson, could not be reached for comment.

Brian Reisinger at bizjournals.com has the story.

Interesting. Seems there was some mention of a surprising lack of Gibson guitars at NAMM this year…
