It is finally is happening, on a warped scale, and I am here to tell you what it is really like on both sides of the fence between musicians and small venues, and how easy it is and how hard it is to follow my dream.

The Hang Factor

So there I was, sitting in a meeting at the Los Angeles office of BareFootMusicNews when in walks Debbie Shair, the keyboard player for Heart. You couldn’t find a cooler, more laid-back person if you tried. She was in the neighborhood and stopped by to say hello. Wakitu, Nathan and I immediately abandoned our meeting to “hang” with Debbie. It’s not often that you get to hang out with a musician who plays with a world-famous, world-touring band. Though, admittedly, it happens around here more often than one might think…

Live Music: Call For Info

We had this idea about rounding up some musicians for the BareFootMusicNews “house” blues band that will be known as
Call For Info.

Dan Grigor and I sat around talking about a plan to put it together as a reality-type series of video clips for BFMN. The premise would be: Show those who never get off their rear ends to actually start a band that gets out of the garage and plays paying gigs just how it is done.
